The four icons in the Internal HEX-Editor are 'open', 'save', 'search' and 'search'. Keep in mind that the read/write buttons do exactly that, they read the current settings off of your cluster, and write whatever is currently displayed as new settings. You will then be able to modify those values as need be. When you read your EEPROM the blank grey area will be populated with hexadecimal values as seen above.
You will use the Internal HEX-Editor if you intend to modify your temperature gauge or speedometer (below).
